2 Months, Lots of Milestones!

Well Baby Jack is 2 Months old already! Kenny and I can not believe it has been two months. I am going to try to be short, sweet, and to the point with this blog!

When Jack was a little over a month old we found out that he had reflux. He got put on two different medications which was hard for Kenny and I to deal with at first but we have seen an improvement. He is still not totally better and is uncomfortable at times but not as often as before. Even though we are not thrilled about giving him medicine, it is so much harder to watch him be in pain all the time. The doctor said that he cosider Jack to have Reflux Disease because he is not getting completely better with medications so we will be seeing a specialist very soon.

At a month old he was picking his head up and turning it while laying down on his tummy. He weighed 9lbs at his month visit.

We went for Jack's two month check up today and he is 11.5 lbs and is 23 inches long! yay! This is really great news considering the reflux disease. We are still strictly breastfeeding and I love it! This was something that was important to me and Kenny and I was devastated when I was having problems at first. We called in a lactation consultant who, after an hour, changed everything! We have had no problems since and I LOVE the time Jack and I have together. I do also pump into bottles so Kenny can feed him once a day and he really looks forward to that time.

In Jack's second month of his little life he SMILED at Mommy! It was amazing! Just last week I finally got a picture on my camera of him smiling. He also laughs some....mostly at Daddy! Totally amazing. When he is on his tummy he will pick his head up if we hold his pacifier by him, trying to get it. He has started to grab and hold on to things. He makes a lot more sounds, as if he is trying to talk to us. He will hold his head up totally straight and steady when we hold him and sit him up. Really cool! He will reach out and swat at his toys on his tummy time mat, which he LOVES. He sleeps through the night almost every night now. I think in the last couple weeks he only got up once in the middle of the night and I think it was my fault for getting him out of his routine.

Jack had his first visitors, our neighbor and his friend Avery, who is four months old and Brock and Georgia! Jack also had a little playdate with Georgia at her house! We also have been able to spend time with little Davis Knecht who is two weeks older than Jack!

Jack had his first visit to Austin and I am sure he felt right at home. I think he already wants to start going to UT like his Great-Grandpa Jack! We stayed with the Bungos and Jack and Brock had a BLAST hanging out together and playing. Aunt Emily loaded us up with lots of goodies and clothes too! We love shopping at the Bungos! We went to visit Krystal at her new home (which is amazing). Jack was such a good boy on his first little road trip.

Jack also had his first trip the dirt bike track! We went to watch Daddy ride his dirt bike. Jack was so excited about going to watch Daddy that by the time we got there he needed to rest his eyes. Oh well....next time he will cheer with Mommy! The night we got home from track we had Jack on his tummy for tummy time, Mommy was in the bathroom running water for a bubble bath when I heard Kenny yell for me. I thought something was wrong and ran into the living room. Jack had been on his tummy but was on his side, trying to roll over. I grabbed the video camera and we watched and talked to him for over 6 minutes. FINALLY he ROLLED OVER! We were so excited! I cried! Like cried a lot. A little embarrassing but it seems like he is growing up way too fast for me. I just can not believe that he is already rolling over. I will try to post the video up soon.

So this totally was not short, sweet, and to the point. Oooops. Sorry. On big people news Kenny has been busy at work as usual and spending the rest of his time with me and Jack. I have been busy planning my sister-in-laws baby shower (can NOT wait until Baby Jacob is here....Jack wants to meet him so bad!) and planning events for my best friend Mary's future wedding.

Its only been two months but Kenny and I just love being parents. Its almost hard to believe that we could have waited so long. Nothing is better and I can not wait for all of my friends to experience parent hood.

We have had many friends recently get engaged, married, or have babies and we are so happy for all of you! We love you all and can not wait for you to join the husband/wife/mommy/daddy clubs!
xoxo
